The Science Cloud allows you to choose where to host your AWS resources, with all standard US regions available by default. When selecting a region, please keep the following guidelines in mind:
- Default Access: All standard US regions are available automatically.
- Discouraged: Using
us-west-1(N. California) is strongly discouraged due to significantly higher service costs. - Restricted: All international (non-US) regions—along with a few specific restricted regions—require a pre-approved business justification before they can be accessed.
