Getting access to the Research Platform is a quick process, but your exact steps depend on whether you are starting a new project or joining an existing one.
First, which path do you need?
| Your situation | Go to |
|---|---|
| I want a new project on the Research Platform | Path A |
| My project already exists, and I need to be added | Path B |
| I have no NASA identity (I am a partner) | You must obtain a STAR ID first, then follow Path B (to obtain a STAR ID, email support@sciencecloud.nasa.gov) |
...
Path A: Start a New Project
This path is for the Project Admin—the person who will manage the project and its funding.
...
You can now log into the RPAdmin console. From here, you can self-manage your team without submitting any support tickets. You can add members, set individual budgets, and turn on features like team collaboration. See RPAdmin — the admin console.
...
Path B: Join an Existing Project
Just ask your Project Admin. They can add you instantly through the RPAdmin console without contacting support.
- Requirements: You must have a NASA identity or an existing STAR ID.
- To log in: Once added, open
rp.sciencecloud.nasa.govand sign in.
No NASA Identity? (External Partners)
If you are an external partner at a university, agency, or company, you need a STAR ID (the central Science Cloud login) before an admin can add you to a project.
- Get a STAR ID: Email support@sciencecloud.nasa.gov to request one.
- Join your team: Once you receive your STAR ID, give it to your Project Admin so they can add you to the workspace.
...
Expected Wait Times
Our goal is to have you working within 4 hours of receiving a complete request.
Delays usually only happen if your request is missing information, or if project funding needs further discussion.
